Our transformative Amazon Ayahuasca retreat focuses on the holistic healing of the body, mind, emotions, and spirit, providing you with a deeper understanding of yourself and the spiritual nature of the world around us.
We prepare our own potent and visionary ayahuasca, combining just two traditional plants: ayahuasca and chacruna.
Designed with small groups of up to 18 people, our retreats allow us to personalize your experience, ensuring readily available, in-depth consultations with our healers for diagnosis, discussion, interpretation, and guidance.
This intimate group setting maximizes the safety and comfort of our guests as native Andean (Qero) and Amazonian (Shipibo) shamans direct the ceremonies, combining powerful traditions from the Peruvian region.
We offer flexible options including three-day retreats with two ceremonies, as well as five to seven-day retreats featuring three ceremonies, with the seven-day option also including two days visiting the sacred grounds of Machu Picchu.
All retreats are fully supported by English-speaking assistants and translators throughout the duration, and conveniently include your accommodation along with transport to and from Cusco.
We integrate modern medical standards into our retreats to ensure your safety at every step. Guests fill out a comprehensive health form reviewed by our doctors and psychologists. Because some guests have specific health requirements, we are equipped to cater to a wide variety of conditions while prioritizing your protection and well-being.
A qualified doctor is present directly during the Ayahuasca ceremonies with access to state-of-the-art emergency medical equipment. They explain the physical effects of Ayahuasca to provide peace of mind, conduct pre-ceremony medical physical examinations to confirm eligibility, and monitor guests continuously. After ceremonies, the doctor performs physical checks to ensure participants are calm, stable, and comfortable before resting, continuing to monitor well-being through the night.
Simultaneously, our psychologists provide pre-ceremony education regarding psychological effects, answer questions, and collaborate with the shaman to help you interpret your personal experiences. They are available for consultations both before and after the ceremonies, and they follow up with guests one to two weeks post-retreat to support personal development, encourage long-term growth, and ensure your integration is successfully assimilated.
The traditional Ayahuasca ceremony is held in a safe, comfortable, and deeply supportive environment in the heart of the Amazon. Grounded in decades of traditional wisdom, our Amazonian shamanism connects you with ancient healing techniques that honor the spirit of the rainforest, guiding your body and mind through transformative sacred ceremonies.
The retreat begins with an opening intention and grounding practice to unify the energy of the group and align with the forces of the jungle. Next, a brief cleansing and purification ritual is performed with loving intention, allowing you to enter your Ayahuasca experience from a place of peace, emotional release, and inner clarity. The precise dosage of your Ayahuasca is thoughtfully determined through a medical, psychological, and emotional evaluation prior to your arrival and during your stay.
The dosage of your ayahuasca is determined by a physical, psychological and emotional evaluation that takes place prior to your arrival, and during your stay at Etnikas.
During the session, the medicine is taken together, and you are guided to relax and listen as the master shaman prepares for the medicine to take effect. The healer chants traditional icaros, prayers, and sacred mantras throughout the hours in which the medicine is active, while protective elements like mapacho tobacco smoke and floral waters are used to cleanse and safeguard the ceremonial space.
At the conclusion of the Ayahuasca experience, a closing ritual is performed to give thanks to Pachamama and the spirits of the forest. This ceremony allows you to express deep gratitude for the healing and insights received, reflecting on the direct connection between yourself, the natural world, and Spirit.
This powerful meditation is based on love and forgiveness. When we access this force of unconditional love, we return to a reality in which we become the size of creation, transcending our limited physical form and filling us with a deep sense of peace mentally, spiritually, and physically.
The name of this meditation is Munay, which in the Inca Quechua language means unconditional love. This practice has the capacity to help you manifest your inner wisdom as well as help you find paths toward healing and balance for a diverse range of challenges by creating positive effects in both our body and our environment. We consider this technique a precious gift from our ancestors, as well as from Wiracocha (Creator) and Pachamama (Mother Earth).
Volunteering with Human Actions involves working with children who come from the poorest communities in and around Cusco. Many children are physically or mentally disadvantaged and/or orphaned. Volunteers offer help with simple tasks such as feeding, cleaning, and sharing company. This service lasts for about 1 to 2 hours.
Another volunteering experience involves looking after dogs in a state of physical and emotional neglect. Volunteers help to keep the dogs' spaces clean and tidy as well as grooming and feeding the dogs. This service lasts for about 1 to 2 hours.
A third volunteering experience is available working in a nursery helping to cultivate native plants. The trees and shrubs that are propagated are donated to reforestation projects around the Cusco area.
The aim of the Amazonian shamanic technique is to recognize our true identity as spiritual beings, knowing that our essence is unconditional love—the power that gives us the strength to transform any negativity into positive energy. Our daily lives often revolve around concerns, emergencies, and barriers that generate a thousand and one thoughts, causing us to prioritize them above recognizing our true essence.
The truth is that we are not our monetary debts, our suffering, or our pain. We are not our successes, nor are we even what we look like or how we perceive our existence in this space and time. We are simply, utterly, and totally “Unconditional Love”!
It is a great mistake to think that we are only matter, to assume that our physical existence is the sum total of reality, and to neglect the spiritual realm by considering it imaginary. In reality, we are deeply connected with the universe and mother nature, a notion supported by modern physics and string theory, which points to a solid vibration field moved by a universal energy.
So how are you meant to know who you are? And how do you get back to your spiritual reality when your mind is constantly separated from your essence? Our Amazon Ayahuasca retreat aims to challenge all preconceived ideas of what you believe your reality is, helping you break down the barriers constructed between your physical and spiritual self, and showing you that there is a direct path leading straight to your essence—and that path is to LOVE!
